Choral and instrumental for adults in Fort Worth

First Presbyterian offers a variety of adult vocal choirs and instrumental ensembles to experience the spiritual blessing of music. Rehearsals are well planned, well-paced, engaging, energizing, encouraging, and uplifting! In addition to receiving one-on-one support, the combination of multiple voices and instrument players makes participation in a choir or ensemble accessible for adults of all skill levels, whether able to read music or not. THE CHANCEL CHOIR

Rehearsals are held Wednesdays, 7–8:30 p.m., Room 218 (Mid-August thru May)
The Chancel Choir sings weekly in the 11 a.m. service, under the direction of Rev. Dr. Michael Waschevski, 817.335.1231, ext. 229.

CHANCEL CHOIR WELCOMES NEW SINGERS: The Chancel Choir begins a new season of ministry with rehearsal Wednesday, August 19, 2026 from 7–8:15 p.m. New singers are welcome! The Chancel Choir is composed of singers from a variety of backgrounds and abilities, all united in a love for music and the power of singing sacred texts in community. Rehearsals are joyous and inspiring as community is formed and excellence achieved. If you are interested in singing with the Chancel Choir, or would like more information, please contact the Rev. THE FELLOWSHIP ENSEMBLE

The Fellowship Ensemble sings in the 9 a.m. service, under the direction of Laura Collins, 817.335.1231, ext. 238.

MUSIC, MEALS & MAJOR FELLOWSHIP: JOIN THE FELLOWSHIP ENSEMBLE: Come check out the Fellowship Ensemble, a group for vocalists, former and current band kids, and instrumentalists of every kind! We welcome musicians of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels to be part of our community, and we bond through music, service, song, and by regularly sharing a meal following rehearsals! We sing, play, and explore hymns and songs from a wide variety of genres, eras, and cultures while building community, supporting one another, and leading worship together. Whether you have years of experience, are dusting off an instrument you have not played in a while or are simply looking for a joyful place to start making music, there is room for you! Rehearsals are Mondays from 6-7 p.m. and Sundays from 8-8:30 a.m. Contact Laura Collins with any questions.

SUMMER CHOIR

Rehearsals are held Wednesdays, 7–8 p.m. and Sundays 10-10:30 a.m., Sanctuary (June thru July)
Summer Choir is comprised of singers from high school age through adult. Singers of all experience levels are invited to participate. The Summer Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7-8 p.m. in the Sanctuary and again from 10-10:30 a.m. Sunday mornings. Summer Choir is great for those unable to sing throughout the year or who would like to try choir for the first time. It is a great opportunity to experience choir for the first time. Summer Choir is under the direction of Rev. Dr. Michael Waschevski, 817.335.1231, ext. 229.

GRACE NOTES HANDBELLS

Rehearsals are held Wednesdays, 7 p.m., Room 245
Grace Notes adult handbell choir, welcomes ringers of varying skill levels. The choir rings in Worship 3-4 times per semester and participates in area handbell festivals. Grace Notes is under the direction of Music Associate Rebecca Sawyer, 817.335.1231, ext. 253.

INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLE

Rehearsals are scheduled as needed for various instrumental ensembles that play during worship services throughout the year, both for morning worship services and Wholeness and Healing services. These groups consist of members who play a variety of instruments and include both professional and lay musicians and are directed by Music Associate Rebecca Sawyer, 817.335.1231, ext. 253.
