Childcare at First Pres

  • Children are always welcome in worship. We encourage families to keep children in worship once they enter Kindergarten.
  • Our childcare is professionally staffed with at least two childcare attendants that have been background checked and trained in our Child Care Protective Policy.
  • Children ages 2-4 enjoy Church School taught by church members on Sundays from 10 - 10:45 a.m.

Childcare is located on the second floor of the building and most easily accessed by parking in the church parking lot off Penn Street and entering through the doors marked “Parlor." Once in the building, follow the signs to childcare.

Infants (6 weeks - 15 months): Room 213
Toddlers - 3-year olds: Room 215
4- and 5-year-olds: Room 217

When you drop your child off, you will sign-in on a kiosk located at the welcome desk. When you arrive to your child’s room, you will be asked to sign them in on the clipboard and provide a cell number. If your child becomes sick or inconsolable, we will “text” you so that you can return to the Childcare Center.

Nursing mothers will find comfortable rocking chairs in a private space in the Parlor of the women's restrooms located between the Sanctuary and Great Hall on the main floor of our worship spaces.

Childcare is provided for many off-Sunday morning church programs as well. A reservation must be made for non-worship childcare during any event other than for Sunday worship. Contact Ann Nielsen to make a reservation.

For your child’s safety, First Pres has a child protection policy. All paid childcare staff and all volunteer teachers complete an information form and have a national background check completed every two years. Classrooms always have two teachers for safety and supervision. For questions about childcare, please contact Ann Nielsen, Director of Children and Family Ministries, 817.335.1231, ext. 232.

Please note that all adult volunteers who participate in our Children's ministries are trained on First Presbyterian Church's Abuse Prevention System. You can view our Child and Youth Protection Policy here.
