Children of all ages enjoy a variety of opportunities to develop their God-given abilities in music. Together, we learn skills that allow us to participate in worship leadership at First Presbyterian Church in new and exciting ways.
Children's music ministry
Children of all ages at First Presbyterian Church enjoy a variety of opportunities to develop their God-given abilities in music and to share them in worship. Our goal is to use music as a tool to help children see themselves as an part of the church family from a young age and give them an avenue to share in the worship life of the community. Church school music time
We provide time for music during the 10 a.m. Church School each Sunday for all children aged 2 through 5th grade.
Pre-K Music Time
2, 3, and 4 Year Olds
Sundays, during their Church School classes. Children will sing, move and dance to music, play simple instruments, learn basic musical patterns and the beginnings of solfege during their class times. Our songs will focus on a child’s relationship with God, with their family, and with the world around them.
Chapel Singers
K-3rd Grade
During Church School each week. Children in Kindergarten through 3rd Grade gather in the Chapel to enjoy singing together as a large group. All children who attend Church School are prepared to share their music in Worship several times during the school year. The music taught is chosen to help children deepen their relationship with our Creator God, with our families and our church community, and with friends and schoolmates they see each week.

Age 4 - 1st Grade

Children’s Choir
Grades 2-5
Sundays, 12:15-1:15 p.m. (includes lunch each rehearsal in the Great Hall) Room 244, rehearsal from 12:30-1:15 p.m. **Drop Off at the Great Hall for Lunch and Pick up in the Children’s Music Area located at the bottom of the Great Hall Staircase.
