About Stephen Ministry
Are you going through a divorce or struggling with anxiety surrounding unemployment issues? Are you or someone you love living with chronic pain or illness? Are you grieving an empty nest, dealing with end of life issues, or mourning the death of a loved one?
A Stephen Minister Can Help
One of the best ways to tell that First Presbyterian Church cares is its 25-year commitment to Stephen Ministry, an important way we express God's love to those around us. "Care givers, not care curers," Stephen Ministers listen, support, encourage, and pray with and for their care receivers. They do not counsel or give advice or try to fix. Rather, they walk with their care receivers in a ministry of accompaniment. God gave us one another on purpose so that we could be the hands and hearts of Christ in this world.
