First Presbyterian Church has a simple, yet profound mission: Inspiring Disciples...Engaging the World. We aim to inspire men at First Presbyterian Church in many ways. Below are a few ongoing opportunities just for men. Questions? Please email Karl Travis or call 817-335-1231.
Men's Monthly Breakfast
3rd Thursdays at 7 a.m.
All men are invited to participate in a monthly Men's Monthly Breakfast that aims to expand our network of sustaining friendships and to deepen our lives of discipleship. These monthly meetings will include a brief presentation that leads to shared conversation at your table group. You will have the chance share your thoughts, joys and concerns, and engage in other topics that may naturally arise.
Monday Morning Bible Study
Monday Mornings | 6:30-7:45 a.m.
Become part of a group of more than a dozen men who meet weekly to grow in their relationship with God and one another through Bible study, prayer and sharing. Led by Gordon Van Amburgh.
Men's Prayer Group
Thursday Mornings (every other week) | 6:45-7:45 a.m.
Take part in a men's prayer group led by Karl Travis. Participants are Karl’s age (53) and younger.
Join a group of dedicated men of the church who visit one man a month who can no longer participate in church activities, keeping them connected to the larger church. A different shut-in is assigned each month and volunteers can calendar their visits to meet their personal schedules. Following visits, they email or call the leader of the group to share about the experience. This information is passed on to the Parish Visitor so the church can continue to support and meet the needs of shut-in members. The group meets quarterly for follow up.
