Children's Music Ministry

Children of all ages enjoy a variety of opportunities to develop their God-given abilities in music and the arts. Together, we learn skills that allow us to participate in worship leadership at First Presbyterian Church in new and exciting ways.  

ARTS & MUSIC CLASSES 

Younger Children’s Choir, 11:20 a.m.-Noon (after Children’s Time in Worship). Ages 4 through 1st Grade.
Worship Arts Class, 2-2:45 p.m. Grades 2-5.
Children’s Choir, 2:45-3:30 p.m. Grades 2-5.
Children’s Bell Chime Choir, 3:30-4:15 p.m. Grades 2-5.

Pre-K Music Time

2 and 3 Year Olds
Sundays, during the Church School classes. Children will sing, move and dance to music, play simple instruments, and learn basic musical patterns and the beginnings of solfege during their class times. 

Younger Children’s Choir 

4-Years-Olds thru 1st Grade
Sundays, 11:20 a.m. – 12 p.m. Children will leave worship with volunteers following the Children’s Moment. Activities include singing, playing drums, Orff and other percussion instruments, folk dancing, activities and games to lay a foundation for music reading and a love for God's gift of music. CHILDREN’S BELL CHOIR 

2nd graders thru 5th graders
Sundays, 3:30-4:15 p.m. This group will learn foundational skills for chimes and bells and will participate in worship up to three times per semester. For more information, please contact Music Associate Rebecca Sawyer, 817.335.1231, ext. 253.

WORSHIP ARTS CLASSES

2nd graders thru 5th graders
Sundays, 2 - 2:45 p.m. We offer a variety of arts experiences for our children to give them a wider range of experience in all types of creative expression.  There are 2-3 classes per semester and they vary in the number of classes according to the time needed to accomplish the class goals.  Some classes will participate in Worship services, such as the drumming class and the liturgical dance class.  Some classes will display their creations for all to enjoy, such as the art classes.  Some classes are designed just to give the children experience in a creative area new to them or to help them gain some new skills.  For more information, please contact Music Associate Rebecca Sawyer, 817.335.1231, ext. 253.

CHILDREN’S CHOIR
