Dear Friends:

Michael, Leah, Amy and I just returned from a few days at the Association of Presbyterian Christian Educators conference in Denver, Colorado. We enjoyed learning about new insights in ministry as well as worshiping with hundreds of Presbyterians from across the country.  Every time I am with a larger body of Presbyterians, I find myself exceedingly grateful for our connectional church, for the history and future that we share together.

This Sunday we celebrate our common Scottish history at the Kirkin' of the Tartans service. In mid-February, the Session and its committees gather to plan for our future together. At the end of the month, we host a stated meeting of Grace Presbytery with Presbyterian leaders from around our region. In this interesting season of ecclesial and national life, I am glad to travel with folks who honor our heritage and have hope for our present and future. Truly, we are better together, with Christ as the head of our church.

See you Sunday,
