Ahreum joined the staff of First Presbyterian in January of 2018 as Director of Music and Organist. In addition to overseeing the broad music program, her role includes playing the church's organ for services in the Sanctuary and for the Chancel and Fellowship Choirs.
Ahreum graduated from Westminster Choir College with a Bachelor of Music, Curtis Institute of Music (diploma), and Yale University with a Master of Music. She played recitals in Arbon, Switzerland; Calgary, Canada; Leipzig, Germany; Oxford, United Kingdom; Nottingham, UK; and Esplanade Hall in Singapore. She was a featured soloist at the National Convention of the American Guild of Organists held in Nashville, Tennessee, the Regional Conventions of the AGO held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; New Haven, Connecticut; Atlanta, Georgia; and the Winter Conclave of the AGO held in Sarasota, Florida. Recently, Ahreum has released a new CD on the Raven label. It contains Berveiller, Bach, Bovet, Vierne, Widor, Michel, Jongen, and includes her transcription of Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld. She is also a member of the American Guild of Organists.
Ahreum lives in Fort Worth with her husband and children. While classically trained, she likes all genres of music. She also enjoys long walks with her family, listening to podcasts, and watching soap operas.
