Our Christian journey of discipleship is a pilgrimage. God weaves our journeys with others through the life of the church. At First Presbyterian those journeys are merged throughout the seasons of life. I’m particularly mindful this week that two of our staff members journeys now lead them to new locations and experiences. Martha Zaborowski retires as our Discipleship Coordinator next week and the following week Teresa Tysinger departs for a new ministry in Tennessee. I am thankful God wove our journeys together over these last years, and I am thankful for their faithful ministries at First Presbyterian. We pray God’s blessings on them in the next season of their lives.
As they journey on, and as we continue our journey together as disciples of Jesus Christ, I offer this prayer from the Iona Community, Scotland.
We pray for all pilgrims and seekers
and companions on the way;
for all travelers.
May our journey ahead be blessed with
often uncomfortable peace and
compassion-filled surprises –
perhaps all in one day. Amen.
God’s Peace to Your Home.
